Why this exists
A Schengen application can't be done entirely by post — the applicant has to attend the visa centre in person for biometrics and submission. Appointment slots are scarce, and a missing document or a mis-filled form can send you home to rebook weeks later, while the flights and the itinerary stay where they are.
The real risk isn't the language on the day — it's the wasted trip. So most of the value sits before the appointment: going through the file document by document against what the visa centre asks for, and then going with you.

Whether an accompanying person may enter the submission area is set by the visa centre, and the rules differ between them. Either way, the document check beforehand and the support on the day stand. The visa decision itself always rests with the issuing authority.
